4 Stars: The Real Review.

Brilliant deep crimson with garnet hue, this vibrant wine showcases flavours of black cherry and plums with a lively acid profile interwoven with savoury black pepper, leather and fine-grained tannin structure. This wine is ready to enjoy now but will gain complexity over the next 4 to 6 years with careful cellaring.

Deep, bright red colour with good tints of purple. The aromas are floral, spicy and herbal, with a mulchy, humus-like overtone. A hint of dried animal skin. It suggests cool-area and perhaps some whole-bunch. The palate is chewy-textured and quite tannic, with density and concluding with some chewiness. The style is quite Rhône-ish but if broached young, it needs protein-rich food. Good value. -Huon Hooke, The Real Review
